Drew founded her beauty brand in the USA in 2013, creating high quality, cruelty free products.
It’s a mid-range price so I wouldn’t say it was budget but fairly affordable for most.
It arrived in the UK at the end of 2018 and is exclusive to Superdrug online only at moment but have been advised that it will be available in store very soon.
There are a wide range of products including powder highlighters, blushers, bronzer, lipstick etc. I was tempted to purchase the ‘Shimmer & Strobe highlighting palette’ but I have more highlighters than I could ever possibly use, so maybe another time…
Instead I picked up Light Illusion Liquid Foundation that has an SPF 18 and contains 30mls of product.
Claims: FLOWER Beauty’s Light Illusion Liquid Foundation is the perfecting veil of buildable coverage. Light Illusion is a breakthrough foundation that achieves the impossible; provides you with the coverage you desire to smooth and perfect, while imparting your skin with the most flattering soft luminosity imaginable. All with a weightless, nude skin feel. Imperfections and uneven skintone are diminished. Only a flawless, smooth, and incredibly natural complexion is revealed. Available in 12 skin-perfecting shades. ***only 5 available from Superdrug online.*** Hopefully Drew will make other more neutral shades available.
I bought the shade ‘Nude’, the bottle is glass and has a pump dispenser. The shade was definitely on the yellow side and had to mix with my face atelier foundation to get the correct shade for me. The texture was quite thick and I found it blended best with the use of hands and a blender rather than a brush. However,it is neither full coverage or too thick once it is blended into the skin. In fact I used a couple of coats and really liked the finish,it made my skin look radiant,I would recommend that if you have oily skin steer clear, but ideal for normal-dry skin.
The longevity was fairly good and lasted for most of the day even after a yoga class.
Overall impression: I wouldn’t say that it was as good my luxury brands (you get what you pay for) and won’t be adding to my kit as it doesn’t have a large enough shade range for a professional kit; not enough neutrals. However if you do buy and it’s in your skin shade then I think you can’t go wrong for the price point.
Next, Lipstick! ‘Mix n Matte Lip duo ‘Tickled Pink’ is a pinky, plummy colour, think MAC ‘Plum Dandy’ but more pink. It’s long lasting for a cream lipstick at this price, can be used on it’s own or a regular gloss added. The gloss is more a metallic lipstick than gloss and can be used on it’s own or on top of the lipstick, so it’s like having 2 lipsticks for the price of £7.99.
I wished I had also ordered the shade in ‘Honey Nude’ also as it looks really pretty. I would use for clients as the colours are really wearable.
I am keen to try the ‘SuperNova Celestial Skin Elixir’ but am on a long waiting list as it’s sold out in the UK and USA and has received rave reviews.
